This year PLP launched a Recycle Revitalization project at Farmington Public Schools. With the financial support from the Bosch Community Fund and Farmington/Hills Education foundation, we distributed over 36 new cafeteria recycle bins with professional signage. By installing bins the same used for residential recycling, we hope the recognition makes recycling easier for students. Fortunately, acceptable materials are consistent between home and school. (This is not always the case). It’s too soon to tell but new bins complimented by 6th grade recycle field trips for +850 students, certainly promotes recycling in a fresh, positive light.
