Green Team STUDENT SUMMIT

PL&P Kids1Let’s face it, Green Teams make it happen! To celebrate, students, school Green Team leaders, and interested community volunteers are invited to attend the Green Team Student Summit, Sunday Oct. 5th, 2014, *Noon-4:00.  This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate and inspire eco-friendly actions. *Changed time to accommodate family schedules.

The summit will provide various environmentally themed activities that educate and empower students to implement projects at their respective schools.  The goal is to strengthen camaraderie among teams, build leadership opportunities and share “best practices” in order to inspire peers to care for the environment.

Explore a spectrum of topics to connect nature, natural resources and environmentally responsible choices. Each workshop will be lead by a local community expert.

Workshop Topics:

  1. Energy Hogs
  2. Recycling *Rox (In honor of Roxanne Mecham. The most passionate, inspiring teacher, leader, mother, and friend. She championed recycling implementation in FPS.)
  3. Gardening and Composting Conundrums
  4. Waste Audit Warriors
