Staff Appreciation Lunch & Learn Recycle Field Trip

Farmington Public School noon aides, custodians and nutrition dept. staff are cordially invited to attend a field trip on Tuesday, Feb 16th. (No school  due to Winter Break.) We would like to show our appreciation for your hard work by hosting a Staff Lunch & Learn Field Trip Tuesday 2/16.  This event is free.

Enjoy a unique field trip to the ReCommunity Huron Materials Recover Facility followed by lunch.  Located 5 minutes south of the Metro-Detroit Airport, the ReCommunity Huron facility is a single stream recycle facility where our residential and school recycling are handled.

In a single-stream MRF, recyclables are received in mixed loads (paper, plastic, metal, glass commingled together) and use a combination of mechanical, automated and manual separation to separate the recyclables by material type.  Materials are baled and shipped to manufacturers to be made back into new products.

ReCommunity’s Huron facility is set up nicely to accommodate tour groups with windows overlooking our tipping floor as well as a viewing walkway inside of our facility and an education room for group discussions and lunch.  Because there is no school on this day, your children are welcome to join!  However…

Pre-registration is required due to limited spaces. Please register by Monday 2/8th.  Fill in name for each person planning to attend.  Register here:
